The gambling landscape in Quebec

Quebec's casinos are operated directly by Loto-Québec, a provincial crown corporation, and it shows in the buildings. The Montreal floor occupies the former French and Quebec pavilions from Expo 67; the Gatineau property is built around a lake with a European-style hotel beside it. Neither behaves quite like a commercial casino resort, and both are better for it.

The minimum age is 18. Service is bilingual throughout, signage leads in French, and the dress standards on the main floors are marginally more formal than in the rest of the country — not enforced, but visible in what people actually wear.
