Best casino hotels in Alberta

Eighteen-plus floors, more of them per capita than anywhere else in Canada, and several with hotels attached.

The gambling landscape in Alberta

Alberta has more casino floors per resident than any other province, and a good number of them have a hotel attached. The character is different from Ontario: fewer destination resorts, more mid-size properties that work as event venues, conference space and weekend hotels for the surrounding region.

Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis licenses the floors, and the minimum age is 18 — the lowest bracket in Canada, shared with Quebec and Manitoba. Several of the province's best casino hotels are owned and operated by First Nations, including two of the three properties reviewed here.
