Casino hotel review · Last checked June 2026
Two towers, a 5,000-seat arena and a floor that faces the Detroit skyline across the river.
Caesars Windsor sits on the Detroit River with the American skyline filling the window, which gives it the most striking urban outlook of any casino hotel in Canada. Two hotel towers hold roughly 758 rooms between them, and the complex includes a 5,000-seat arena that programmes the kind of touring acts a city of this size would not otherwise see.
The casino floor runs to about 100,000 square feet with some 2,000 slot machines and 75 gaming tables. The pit is the strongest part of the property: a wide blackjack spread, an active poker room and table minimums that stay accessible mid-week. A large share of the room is cross-border traffic, which keeps weekend evenings busy and the dealer roster deep.
The resort side is more corporate than characterful — this is a Caesars property and it looks like one — but the execution is consistent. Rooms are large, the spa is proper, and the Augustus tower rooms facing the river are among the better casino hotel rooms in the country.

The Augustus and Forum towers hold roughly 758 rooms. Augustus is the newer and better of the two — larger rooms, better bathrooms and the river-facing views that make the property. There is a full spa, a good-sized pool and enough conference space that the hotel functions as a business venue during the week and a leisure one at weekends.
The Colosseum is the reason a lot of people book here at all: 5,000 seats, a serious touring calendar and a room small enough that the back row still sees something. Comedy, concerts and boxing all appear on the schedule, and tickets are sold to the general public independently of the casino floor.
The most complete casino hotel in Ontario after Fallsview, and arguably the better one for anyone who cares more about the tables and the arena than about the view of a waterfall. Book the Augustus tower, aim for a show night, and eat at Neros once.
