Overview

Casino New Brunswick was built from scratch in 2010 as a complete property rather than a floor with rooms bolted on, and it remains the only purpose-built casino hotel in Atlantic Canada. A 126-room hotel, a spa, three restaurants, a conference centre and a 2,000-seat event centre share the complex with the casino floor on Moncton's northwest edge.

The floor itself is modest: roughly 600 slot machines and 20 tables across about 24,000 square feet. Nobody would call it a gaming destination. What it does offer is the full casino hotel format in a region that otherwise has none, executed cleanly and priced well below the national average.

New Brunswick's minimum gaming age is 19. The property sits beside the Trans-Canada Highway near the Magnetic Hill attractions, which makes it a driving stop rather than a walkable city stay.

The casino floor

Slots & slot machines
Around 600 machines on a compact, modern floor with a small high-limit section.
Table games
Roughly 20 tables — blackjack, roulette, baccarat and card games, at low minimums.
Poker room
Poker appears on a limited schedule; there is no permanent room.
Sportsbook
Screens in the lounge; wagering runs through Atlantic Lottery channels.
Live casino
Live dealer tables in the pit with electronic terminals alongside.
High rollers & VIP
A small high-limit area with host service and VIP rates on suites.

Machine and table counts are approximate and were last checked in June 2026. Licensed gaming in New Brunswick is overseen by the Gaming, Liquor and Security Licensing (Department of Justice and Public Safety).

Hotel & resort

The 126-room hotel is the best accommodation attached to any casino in Atlantic Canada — contemporary rooms, a proper spa, an indoor pool and a conference centre that does steady business through the week. Rates are markedly lower than the national casino hotel average.

On site

  • 126 rooms and suites
  • Full spa
  • Indoor pool and fitness centre
  • 2,000-seat event centre
  • Conference and meeting space
  • Free parking

Dining

The Grill
The property's main dining room, steak and seafood led.
Buffet
Open on a limited schedule, busiest on event nights.
Lounge and bar
Casual food and screens beside the floor.

Entertainment

The 2,000-seat event centre is the property's strongest asset, booking national touring acts, comedy and boxing throughout the year. In the Moncton market it is one of the main venues, and its calendar drives hotel occupancy more than the casino floor does.

Pros & cons

What works

  • Good spa and rooms at well below national rates
  • Strong event centre calendar
  • Free parking and easy highway access

What does not

  • Small casino floor with a narrow table spread
  • Highway location, nothing walkable nearby
  • No permanent poker room

Verdict

7.9 editorial score out of 10
Moncton, New Brunswick

The Maritime entry that actually delivers the format. Book it around an event, use the spa, and set your expectations for the floor to match a room of 600 machines rather than 3,000.
