Overview

Casino Regina occupies Union Station, a 1912 railway building in the middle of downtown Regina, and the conversion is the best argument in the country for putting a casino inside a heritage structure rather than a purpose-built box. The main hall keeps its barrel-vaulted ceiling, the original detailing and the sense of scale a station needs; the slot machines sit underneath it.

The floor carries roughly 750 slot machines and 30 tables. It is crown-operated by SaskGaming, the minimum age is 19, and the show lounge upstairs programmes tribute acts and comedy most weekends to a devoted local audience.

There is no hotel attached, but downtown Regina is compact enough that several are within a five-minute walk — close enough that the practical experience is not far off a casino hotel stay.
